SADCASE SCRIBBLINGS
November is now here and colder months are ahead. No reason to be glum though, as we SADCASE members are hardy types and like to meet whatever the weather. There are TWO events tomorrow (9th November).
No.1 TOMORROW The first is the Goodwood Track Day. This is a free of charge event where we can meet and view the cars on track sometimes at all sorts of angles battling around this incredibly fast circuit. For those interested we will be meeting at the Storrington car park at 9.00am leaving at around 9.15am. We will travel as usual at the pace of the slowest car so do not mind if you quick guys overtake us on the fast road from the Fontwell Horse racing course. We will meet at the Motor Circuit Cafe car park before walking under the track to good vantage points where we can see the action. The Motor Circuit Cafe may be closed but there is always places where you can find a breakfast bacon bap, burger and something to drink. A good place to watch the action is above the pits. See you there!
No.2 TOMORROW The second is the monthly meeting at The Spur from 11.00am. A few of us no doubt will make a long morning of it and travel from Goodwood to meet fellow members maybe a little later on from the normal time of 11.00am. It was so nice to see a wide collection of classic cars at the last Spur meeting but remember it is the members that are more important so if you are reluctant to waken your treasured car/bike from its cozy garage then nip over in your everyday car. We will understand!
-------------------------
We met in very late September at the Storrington library car park ready to join the convoy to the last Pagham breakfast meeting. Everyone left on time and arrived to find a good number already in the Pagham car park. A good breakfast was had as usual. Many members then left to have a chat with the many SADCASE owners before driving home. Thanks to Jamie Brown for organising this event. We will return next Spring.
A few of us attended the Fontwell Mini Car show. I was unable to attend so look forward to talking to those who attended.
A good number of us attended the Goodwood Electric Car Race event on the 13th October. SADCASE member Harry Sherrard was one of the organisers and director of the company that has inspired so many school children to look to a career in engineering. It was such an interesting day with so many home built but professional looking machines being prepared in the paddock. The owners and mechanics were all keen to explain how the cars had been put together and sustain such good speeds. It was helpful to weigh as little as possible and be of a slight build. Most SADCASE members including myself would not fit inside the compact cockpits! In addition it was common to have all wheels heavily cambered for good roadholding with just one powered by the electric motor. Harry invited a number of us to the Jackie Stewart Pavilion where he made a very interesting speech about the history of the Goodwood Motor Racing track and the history of the March family that own it. He included a number of slides that emphasised important factors in this local iconic attraction and the airfield used in WW2. He has offered to repeat the speech in greater detail in early January possibly at the Storrington local Parish Hall. More details to follow but what a great way of spending a winter evening!
In addition there is another annual event at the Goodwood track that will attract SADCASE members. It is the Goodwood Marshals Track days on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd November. More details later but no doubt we will arrange a drive out from the Storrington library car park.
Finally we all should welcome all the new members joining our ranks this year. It has been a record year with 266 joining to date. Please direct all new members to a committee member who can provide our free membership credit card sized card and our wonderful windscreen badge at just £3 as well as giving them details of our club including our Website and facebook pages which keep members updated on a day to day basis.
The committee are hard at work organising events for next year. The annual Amberley Museum Show is now booked for late June ensuring better weather and the Storrington Village Show is back possibly in August. Now is the time for ideas to be suggested. Remember SADCASE is YOUR club!

GOODWOOD TRACK DAY TOMORROW 9th NOV
Meet at the Storrington Car Park at 9.00am or at the Motor Circuit Cafe at the circuit itself. Just turn left when you arrive before driving under the track. The cafe itself may be closed but this is a great meeting place. There are refreshments inside the circuit after a short walk under the track.

I hope you have all had great summers, hopefully with some rest and motorsport included!
Thank you for your patience, following the save the date email before the summer and thanks to those who have reached out.
I am now ready to start collecting your applications to attend this year's Goodwood Marshals Club Charity Track day event!
The process will be the same as last year.
1. If you would like to attend this year, please complete this form https://forms.gle/T1Y9mEso8rq52zn48
2. I will contact you with confirmation of your requested space and details of how to make payment to secure your booking.
3. On the day joining instructions will follow
Please note we offer spaces on a first come first served basis, so don't leave until the last minute. It has also been necessary to increase our prices slightly, in order to cover costs and ensure that the charities we support this year will benefit from your generosity. We trust that you will still find these prices competitive.
On behalf of the Goodwood Marshals Club, we are really looking forward to seeing you all again this year,
