1986 Austin Mini The Chelsea for June's Car of the Month provided by member Jonathan Grima:
"I bought this car in 2021 I’ve always liked mini’s and like a lot of people had one as my first car in 1999 that was a 1974 Mini 1000.
This car was advertised as a Chelsea edition and when I looked more into the model reslised that it’s quite rare with only being made in 1986 and a limited production run of 1500 there is currently only 31 left on the road. When I bought the car it had none of it’s original trim as it was being turned into a Monte Carlo replica. We then began the search over a few years of looking for all it’s original interior,nimbus grey handles,bumpers,grill and the original alloys with all centre caps and are now proud to have it back to looking original and factory correct. It is not restored and still retain’s all it’s original body panels and has very little paint work done but our aim was not to have a restored car but a original one. It has it’s original 998cc engine which has covered 53000 miles and completely unmodified.
It was also a feature car in June’s 2025 edition of MiniWorld magazine. We love using the car for local trips and attending shows and always get great compliments on it."
